Woody Harrelson’s spirits company is B Corp
By Melita KielyHolistic Spirits Co, co-founded by actor Woody Harrelson and Amy Holmwood, has received B Corp certification.

Holistic Spirits Co, also co-founded by Amy Holmwood, claims to be the world’s first plant-powered alcohol company.
The company’s products are Harmony Gin and Origen Speciality Vodka – both of which are carbon neutral.
B Corp certification is awarded to companies that meet strict criteria spanning corporate governance, the environment, community, employees and customers.
“Transparency has always been at the heart of everything we do at Holistic Spirits Co,” said Holmwood. “When creating this brand, I knew we had to do it right or not at all.
“I’m so proud to receive this recognition from B Lab just two years after launching, propelling our mission to revolutionise the spirits industry through sustainable and organic practices.”
Since the business was founded in 2023, Holistic Spirits Co has been committed to working with responsible products, including certified-organic McClintock Distilling Company, and zero-waste Griffo Distillery. Furthermore, the company uses GRAS (generally recognised as safe) polyphenol-rich plant compounds and ingredients.
Both the gin and vodka are created in the US at USDA green-certified distilleries that use less water, recycle by-products back into farming, and employ no-water-waste processes.
One tree is planted for every bottle of Holistic Gin or Speciality Vodka sold through the company’s partnership with ForestPlanet.
Plus, in collaboration with sowhatelse.org, Holistic Spirits Co gives back to families in underserved communities in the Baltimore-Washington Metro Area in the US.
The Hunger Games actor Harrelson added: “After meeting Amy and trying the Origen Specialty Vodka, I knew I had to help introduce it to the world. A product that’s delicious and made sustainably – it was a no-brainer.
“As an advocate for sustainability myself, I am delighted that the brand is gaining recognition for its innovation and dedication to eco-conscious practices after just two years on the market.”
Already available in several US states, from January 2025 Holistic Spirits Co’s gin and vodka will also be available in California through Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, and select Total Wine & More stores in Southern California. Through Total Wine & More’s Spirits Direct Program, the brand will also be available at stores in Arizona, Nevada and Washington.
