English producer Lancaster Spirits Company (LSCo) has launched its Founders’ Reserve membership programme, which offers access to taste the distillery’s ageing spirit.

As an alternative to cask ownership, the LSCo has introduced the Founders’ Reserve whisky club, which allows whisky enthusiasts to enjoy single malts drawn from some of the distillery’s first casks.

The LSCo opened its seven-figure distillery in July 2024.

The distillery’s membership programme is offered in three tiers, each building on the previous membership.

At £95 (US$118), the Discovery Founders’ Reserve is a lifelong entry-level membership that allows members to connect with the distillery and the people who produce its spirits.

Each member receives a welcome pack containing a 500ml bottle of new-make spirit, an LSCo Glencairn glass and an exclusive membership card.

In addition, the entry-level membership includes several other benefits, including a distillery tour voucher for one, an exclusive discount on all future purchases, and access to exclusive LSCo limited edition single malt releases.

The second tier, the £595 (US$740) Gold Founders’ Reserve, offers the same introductory benefits as the Discovery Founders’ Reserve but includes five 700ml bottles of single malt, one bottle delivered each year from 2025 to 2029.

The Gold membership also offers access to exclusive bottlings, being among the first to be notified of new releases, and behind-the-scenes experiences, including whisky tastings and meet-the-maker events.

The last tier, Platinum Membership Reserve, costs £995 (US$1,237) and includes 10 700ml bottles of single malt, one of which will be delivered each year from 2025 to 2034, as well as behind-the-scenes experiences.

Christopher Pateman, commercial manager at LSCo, said: “The launch of our Founders’ Reserve is a relatively accessible way of introducing whisky enthusiasts to sample our signature new-make spirit as it matures in cask into an exquisitely flavoured English single malt whisky.

“Our distiller, Joan, has taken great care to develop the flavour profiles of our spirit. By using our 200-year-old brewers’ yeast, a selection of carefully chosen malts along with water from our very own aquifer and a choice selection of casks, our single malt promises to be complex with distinctly different flavour profiles as they continue to mature. We also have our Discovery Membership available for those looking to take a first step into our whisky-making journey.”

The memberships are now available on the distillery’s website.

Alternatively, LSCo is offering access to the ‘Still in Cask’ platform, which allows people to secure a 700ml bottle from Cask #39, a first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry cask due for bottling in 2029. The bottle costs £35 (US$44).
