The 82nd Golden Globes Awards ceremony was held on Sunday 5 January, with attendees receiving a gift bag valued at US$1 million.

Dubbed ‘The Ultimate Gift Bag’, nominees and guests from the film and TV worlds received a selection of products and experiences from across the travel, beauty, wellness, wine and spirits sectors.

The alcohol offering included a bottle of Komos XO Tequila (priced at US$2,000 and available to 10 participants) and a collection of Komos Reposado Rosa, Añejo Cristalino, Añejo Reserva, and Extra Añejo Tequilas (available to 15 guests). There was also one trip to the Komos Foundation in Mexico (valued at US$5,500) up for grabs.

Scotland’s Isle of Harris Distillery provided bottles of its Isle of Harris Gin and debut single malt whisky The Hearach, with one or both found in all 100 gift bags.

A trio of rare wines from Liber Pater were also on offer from the 2015, 2018 and 2019 vintages for one recipient, alongside a single Liber Pater wine tasting and dinner experience in Bordeaux, France.

The travel offering included a two-night stay and whisky experience in Tasmania at five-star hotel The Tasman in Hobart for five gift bag recipients, valued at US$4,935.

The goody bag also included getaways such as a private flight and stay to see the Northern Lights in Finland and a luxury yacht charter through the Coral Triangle in Indonesia, alongside beauty gifts such as a CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2 and La Prairie’s Pure Gold Radiance Concentrate serum.

Also in the gift bag was The Atlas Bespoke Weekender Bag, which was created exclusively for this year’s Golden Globes.

Tequila’s starring role

Access Hollywood host Mario Lopez also brought along a bottle of Casa México Tequila to the Golden Globes to toast the nominees at the awards ceremony.

A longtime partner of the Tequila brand, Lopez enjoyed a shot of Casa México Cristalino with A Real Pain star Kieran Culkin, who referenced the moment during his acceptance speech for winning Best Male Supporting Actor in Any Motion Picture.

During her Golden Globes monologue, host Nikki Glaser also poked fun at celebrities on the Tequila bandwagon.

The comedian told guests: “If you lose tonight, please just keep in mind that the point of making art is not to win an award, the point of making art is to start a Tequila brand so popular that you never have to make art again.”

Teremana Tequila founder Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was also in attendance at the 2025 Golden Globes as he starred in Moana 2, which was nominated for Best Animated Film.

At last year’s Oscars ceremony, nominees were gifted with bottles of Scottish brand Gin Bothy in their goody bags.
