Cocuy Saroche lands in Italy
By Miona MadsenDUG Group has partnered with distributor Compagnia dei Caraibi to launch its Cocuy Saroche Venezuelan agave spirit in Italy.

Cocuy Saroche’s entry into the Italian market is said to strengthen its presence in Europe and open new opportunities to share the brand’s cultural heritage and tradition.
Cocuy Saroche is made with locally grown Cocui Trelease agave from the DUG Group’s estate in Venezuela.
The production of the spirit combines artisanal and industrial processes to pay homage to a region’s culture and identity.
The Venezuelan spirit is preparing for a strategic launch in the first quarter of 2025 in collaboration with the company’s Canaïma Gin.
The launch aims to create synergy between the two brands, which share the same philosophy of ‘respect for their origins and natural environment’.
It also marks the beginning of the DUG Group’s continued expansion in Europe.
The group is committed to delivering authentic and sustainable experiences.
It aims to build a solid presence in key markets and share its story worldwide.
DUG Group operates ‘one of the most versatile distilleries’ in South America, Destilerías Unidas SA (DUSA), famous for its Diplomatico rums.
Last year, The Spirits Business interviewed José Rafael Ballesteros Meléndez, CEO of DUG Group, to learn more about Cocuy Saroche.
