The Shard offers festive cocktail menu

London’s 310-meter-high landmark, The Shard, has revealed a Christmas cocktail menu inspired by its light show this year.

Following the switch-on of the lights for the building’s top 20 floors on 14 November, The Shard’s restaurants and bars offer a limited edition menu of seven festive cocktails.

Inspired by the UK’s tallest building’s annual Christmas light display, the menu will be available at Gŏng on level 52, Hutong on level 33, Oblix on level 32, and The View from The Shard on the top floors of the building, until 31 December.

Each cocktail has been crafted using festive ingredients to pay homage to the season’s biggest musical numbers.

At Gŏng, a cocktail called Ginger Bells arrives at the table in a festive ceramic gingerbread house, surrounded by a cloud of softly scented ginger air. The cocktail itself is made with date and butter-infused single malt whisky from The Lakes, cinnamon, falernum and bitters.

Hutong Bar gets into the holiday spirit with a Yule Mule, a mix of Grey Goose vodka, sweet pear infusion, bubbling ginger, and lime. To top it off, the long drink is served with a Christmas sugar rim, fresh mint, and ruby red berries.

Oblix Restaurant offers four cocktails. The Pear Tree combines Tanqueray and sloe gin with sweet pear and cinnamon syrup and mulled wine syrup, while Jolly is a twist on the classic eggnog.

Furthermore, the restaurant’s Figgy Pudding cocktail mixes Bulleit Bourbon, fig liqueur and Christmas pudding syrup. The last of the quartet, One-Horse Open Sleigh, combines Koko Kanu Rum, mint, cream, Frangelico hazelnut liqueur and mandarin, topped with a peppermint candy cane.

At The View, Cherry Christmas brings in the festive London skyline with a mix of Patrón Silver Tequila, maraschino liqueur, Drambuie, cranberry and morello cherry purée, orgeat, and lime, topped with holly, fresh berries, and a sparkling rim.

Due to high demand during the festive season, reservations are encouraged on each venue’s online site.
