Oblix serves up Martini ‘girl dinner’

One of the bars at The Shard, Oblix East, has created a new Happy Hour menu that pairs Martinis with fries.

The Happy Hour concept is leaning on the online trend of ‘girl dinner’

The concept is a nod to the ‘New York Happy Meal’, which sees Martinis paired with fries and which the bar claims is trending worldwide.

Located on the 32nd floor of The Shard building, the East side of Oblix will offer a twist on ‘girl dinner’ every day from 4pm to 7pm.

For £16 (US$20), guests can choose a serve from the Martini menu along with unlimited seasoned, herb-salted fries and condiments.

The Martinis include a Dirty Martini, a Yuzu & Pencha Gimlet, a Smoky Martinez, a Blueberry Martini, or an Apple & Cinnamon Martini.

The Blueberry Martini is made with Ketel One vodka, blueberry, violet and lemon.

For those looking for something less spirit-forward, the bar also offers fried chicken and Champagne for £24 (US$30), or fried chicken and caviar for £38 (US$48).

Oblix has previously partnered with That Boutique-y Whisky Company and The Macallan to create on- and off-trade experiences.

The Shard is also home to London’s highest bar, Gong.

Last week, CGA by NIQ’s On Premise Cocktails Report revealed that 20% of US cocktail consumers drink Martinis in bars and restaurants – a figure that is nearly identical across all age groups.
