Snoop and Dre drink with Sinatra in Still G.I.N ad

Via ‘cutting-edge’ technology, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg have starred in a new Still G.I.N campaign alongside the late Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.

The 90-second ad brings the ‘legendary’ artists together through innovative artificial intelligence (AI).

It starts with Snoop and Dre walking into a club as jazz music plays in the background. As they walk together, a man nods to Snoop and informs him that he “took care of that thing”, which prompts Dr Dre to ask: “What thing?”

“You know, that thing,” Snoop answers, before Dre nods in understanding. “Oh, that thing,” he says.

The pair are then joined by a man in a white dinner jacket who appears to be the owner of the club and informs them that their usual table is ready, at which point two men at the bar, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr, notice the pair.

Sinatra asks: “Hey Sammy, now who the hell are these guys?”

“I heard those are the new gangsters in town,” Davis replies, before Sinatra calls over the bartender, played by model-actor Lori Harvey, and asks her to “tell those guys we’d like to meet ‘em.”

The scene soon cuts to the four men introducing themselves as Davis asks the rappers what they are drinking. “Gin,” Snoop answers.

“Still G.I.N,” Dre clarifies.

“Okay, Still G.I.N for everybody,” Sinatra declares.

The quartet are next seen clicking glasses at a table. “To the good life,” Snoop says, before Dre warns: “Don’t kill anybody tonight,” as the screen fades to an image of the black Still G.I.N bottle.

To bring the vision to life, the brand collaborated with creative agency, Rosewood Creative, alongside acclaimed director Dave Meyers, and entertainment-focused generative AI company Metaphysic.

The result is described as a ‘what if?’ meeting that cinematically bridges past, present and future generations of superstars.

The team worked in close partnership with the Sinatra and Davis estates to ensure a faithful representation that is said to honour how Sinatra and Davis would have carried themselves.

A 30-second version of the spot premiered on 10 December during the finale of The Voice on NBC, on which Snoop is a judge.

Still G.I.N is described as a novel take on contemporary gin, and was launched by the rapping duo in October.

The gin is citrus-led with subtle floral and spice notes having been made with a blend of botanicals using vapour distillation in a copper pot still.

Presented at 42.5% ABV, the gin is distilled and bottled in the US, and distributed nationally for US$34.99 through Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits.
