Teeling unveils Christmas Batch for travel retail
Irish whiskey brand Teeling has created a limited edition festive bottling exclusively for Dublin and Cork Airport duty free.
The limited edition bottling underwent a dual fermentation with white wine yeast and distiller’s yeast.
The triple-distilled blend, containing malt and grain whiskies, was finished in a festive mix of three cask types: Port, red wine, and Sherry.
With notes of rich brown sugar, Christmas pudding, allspice, sweet toffee, dried fruits, and soft tannins, the distillery describes it as ‘Christmas in a bottle’.
Teeling Whiskey Christmas Batch is available exclusively at Dublin and Cork Airport duty free in partnership with travel retail specialist ARI.
Stephen Teeling, sales and marketing director of Teeling Whiskey, commented: “When ARI asked us to collaborate on our first-ever Christmas exclusive whiskey, we were delighted to produce a limited edition whiskey that represents all the aromas and tastes that encapsulate the festive period.
“This release of 1,000 bottles is a true embodiment of our commitment to innovation and quality, and we are proud to showcase the best of Irish whiskey craftsmanship in partnership with one of the world’s leading whiskey retailers.”
The limited edition whiskey is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration, and priced at €55 (US$58) duty-paid and €42 (US$44) duty free in 700ml bottles.
Damien Smith, buyer at ARI, said: “This exciting collaboration with Teeling Whiskey is the latest chapter in our whiskey journey of discovery. We are delighted to welcome yet another world exclusive to the Irish whiskey collection in Dublin and Cork Airport duty free.
“There’s something magical about this whiskey. The rich flavours that dance on the palate: it’s like capturing the essence of the holiday season in a glass. Undoubtedly, this will make for a unique Christmas gift for any whiskey lover.”
Earlier this year, Teeling expanded its limited edition range with its oldest expression to date – a 40-year-old single malt – and the third instalment in its Rising Reserve 21-year-old single malt series.
At the 2024 Irish Whiskey Masters, Teeling Whiskey was awarded two Master medals, eight Golds and two Silvers.
