Highclere announces $500 gin and cigar giveaway
English brand Highclere Castle Gin has launched a social media giveaway for gin and cigar enthusiasts, totalling US$500.
The giveaway on Instagram includes two rare prizes; the brand’s barrel-aged gin and the Highclere Castle Senetjer Cigar, created in collaboration with Foundation Cigar Company.
Together, the two prizes make for a combined value of US$500.
To enter, participants are invited to visit the brand’s Instagram page where full entry details can be found.
One of the prizes, The Highclere Castle Barrel-Aged Gin, is aged in French Armagnac, Scotch whisky and new American oak casks, resulting in ‘complex notes of citrus, vanilla, oak and spice’ on the palate. The flavours are said to complement the ‘botanical elegance’ of the flagship gin’s original recipe.
The limited edition aged gin will not be repeated, with only a few cases left.
Meanwhile, The Highclere Castle Senetjer Cigar was created by master blender Nicholas Melillo of Foundation Cigar Company in partnership with Highclere Gin co-founder Adam von Gootkin and Lord Carnarvon to reflect the history of Highclere Castle.
Named after the ancient Egyptian word for ‘incense,’ the Senetjer embodies ‘elegance, featuring rich tobacco blends’ with only 700 boxes produced this year.
For Highclere’s gin, spirits entrepreneur von Gootkin worked alongside the eighth Earl and Countess of Carnarvon to craft a gin inspired by the botanicals grown on the historic Highclere Castle Estate, also known as ‘the real Downtown Abbey‘.
Since its launch, the brand has garnered Gold medals at the 2024 Gin Masters – First Tasting Result and The Luxury Masters.
Earlier this year, it announced a US-exclusive contest to celebrate the third Downtown Abbey film and hosted the winner at the castle.
