Anora offloads Snälleröds schnapps

Nordic drinks group Anora has completed the sale of Swedish schnapps brand Snälleröds to Malmö-based beverage company Saturnus.

As part of the agreement, Saturnus will take over the production, distribution and sale of Snälleröds’ products effective 18 November 2024.

The sale enables Anora to focus on its core brands and streamline its portfolio. This aligns with Anora’s strategy of ‘concentrating on brands with significant growth potential’.

The agreement includes the Snälleröds schnapps brand and its two products, as well as the production equipment from the Snälleröds micro-distillery located in Ljungbyhed, Sweden.

The Snälleröds brand is rooted in Scanian heritage and creates organic and handcrafted schnapps.

Kirsi Puntila, senior vice-president of spirits at Anora, commented: “We are confident that Saturnus will take excellent care of the Snälleröds brand, and we are very happy to entrust it with building its next chapter. The decision to sell the Snälleröds brand allows us to focus on our core brands, supporting the growth ambitions of our spirits business.”

Anora said the sale will not significantly impact the company or its personnel.

In October, Anora Group announced CEO Jacek Pastuszka would retire from his role once a replacement had been appointed.

Earlier this month, the company reported an 8.1% sales drop in the third quarter of 2024 after declines in all markets except Sweden.
