Penrhos launches limited edition gin liqueurs

Family-owned English gin Penrhos has relaunched its blueberry gin liqueur and added a rhubarb-and-apple-flavoured variant to its stable.

The two limited edition flavours have been released for the winter season

The two flavours were released on 18 October in 500ml 100% recycled aluminium bottles on Amazon and the Penrhos Spirits website.

Both expressions are offered at 20% ABV and retail for £18 (US$23).

The brand relaunched its Penrhos Blueberry Gin Liqueur just in time for Christmas, and a new rhubarb and apple gin liqueur following the success of the Penrhos Spirits Rhubarb Gin.

The liqueurs are recommended to be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, as an apéritif, with Prosecco or Champagne, or as the base of a fruity cocktail. Both expressions are also suitable for cooking, including in Christmas bakes, desserts and even over ice cream.

Dedicated to sustainable production, Penrhos Spirits has packaged the liqueurs in 100% recycled aluminium bottles, which can be recycled and reused as water bottles.

The brand transitioned in 2023 from using 700ml glass bottles to 100% recycled packaging, which decreased Penrhos gin’s packaging carbon footprint by 91%.

Harriet Evans, sales director at Penrhos Spirits, said: “Our blueberry liqueur was incredibly popular with customers, so we really wanted to bring it back, just in time for Christmas.

“Our Rhubarb and Apple gins are a firm favourite too – that’s why we’ve brought out the two flavours together. Fruit liqueurs are so versatile and lighter than a classic gin spirit, so we hope they will appeal to gin lovers, cocktail lovers and fruit lovers alike.”

Earlier this year, Penrhos Spirits secured a Sainsbury’s listing for its Wonky Raspberry and London Dry gins, and a partnership with EasyJet for 50ml Wonky Raspberry Gin samples.
