Johnnie Walker reveals Blue Label Ice Chalet
Diageo-owned blended whisky Johnnie Walker has entered the après ski occasion for the first time with the launch of its limited edition Blue Label Ice Chalet.
Created in collaboration with luxury skiwear and lifestyle brand Perfect Moment and fronted by Johnnie Walker Blue Label ambassador and Perfect Moment shareholder Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the new blend is inspired by ‘Blue Hour’ – the moment between sunset and twilight on the slopes when skiing turns to socialising.
Created by master blender Emma Walker, Ice Chalet offers notes of cinnamon-spiced apple that give way to warm cloves and spices before finishing with subtle hints of Alpine smoke.
Only one in 10,000 casks meet the requirements to be included in the blend, resulting in a ‘rich warmth that is perfect after a day on the slopes’.
Walker commented on the release: “When creating Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet, we set out to blend a whisky that was inspired by the Alpine landscape and captured the magic of special Après Ski moments.
“Using Met Office data, we uncovered rare expressions that were distilled in the depths of Scotland’s coldest winters and blended these with whiskies from some of our most northern and highest altitude distilleries, including Dalwhinnie, Clynelish and Brora, to create a velvety smooth Scotch with Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s signature depth of flavour at its heart.”
The Brora in the blend is from the reopened distillery’s old stock, and as an addition, Ice Chalet is one of the first from the brand featuring whisky from Roseisle Distillery.
Building on the brand’s luxury and culture strategy, the limited edition Ice Chalet is the second drop in the Cobalt series. It follows the launch of Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami last year, created in partnership with Chef Kei Kobayashi.

The partnership will also see Perfect Moment launch the Ice Chalet capsule ski wear collection, featuring coordinating designs.
In the new limited release, the Johnnie Walker square bottle meets Perfect Moment’s North Star and houndstooth print in a deep blue reversible bottle bag crafted from a new liquid blue and silver fabric. After removing the whisky, the bottle bag doubles as a crossbody bag to enable the wearer to transition from the slopes to the city.
Chopra Jonas, actress and producer, stated: “A perfect moment of mine has always been the après ski, a moment which brings together fashion and socialising, best complemented by a great drink and a chic outfit.
“Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet offers everyone a little slice of that – no matter where they are – with a smooth whisky that perfectly mirrors the freshness of the slopes and a crossbody bag that looks as good in the snow as it does by the fireside.”
Throughout the ski season, Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet will host a series of luxury ‘Blue Hour’ experiences at popular ski destinations with events in Deer Valley, Utah and Niseko, Japan.
The limited edition whisky will be available globally with a suggested retail price of US$350 (€319/£267).
Earlier this month, Johnnie Walker partnered with Netflix’s Squid Game ahead of the Korean TV show’s second season premiere.
Earlier this year, the world’s biggest-selling Scotch whisky unveiled a 700ml light bottle (just 180g in weight), trialled paper bottles and announced the launch of its Black Ruby expression in global travel retail for 2025.
