Jameson, which has been the English Football League’s (EFL) lead spirits sponsor for two seasons, is said to be ‘deeply entrenched in all aspects of the league’. Now, the Pernod Ricard-owned brand has teamed up with Admiral to celebrate both brands’ association with the sport.

Together, they have created a retro-inspired tracksuit in Jameson’s signature green brand colours, featuring key elements from Admiral’s designs for team performance wear, including the ‘iconic’ side taping and stitched Admiral logo, while adding the Jameson J on both the front chest and the taping.

Jameson brand director Josh McCarthy, said: “Nostalgia is everywhere at the moment and growing up in Leicester, there was no shortage of Admiral tops on the park and at the local football clubs back then. Similarly, Jameson shares a history rich with heritage, so teaming up with an iconic heritage brand like Admiral felt like a natural fit, with the results speaking for themselves. A classic tracksuit, from two classic brands, to look sharp after the match when buying your mates a round of Jameson, Ginger and Lime.”

The ‘slouchy’ royal green co-ord is described as ‘prepped for pubs, presents, party games and freezing cold five-a-sides this Christmas’.

Theo Hamburger, head of sales and marketing at Admiral, added: “Our partnership with Jameson has flourished on the pitch through our range of football shirts, and we’re excited to elevate that collaboration with a new lifestyle collection.

“Jameson’s commitment to football over the years perfectly mirrors Admiral’s mission to be at the heart of football culture. Both brands share a rich heritage and history, making this collection a true reflection of the vibrant footballing spirit we aim to celebrate.”

The brands have enlisted the help of professional footballer Kyle Jameson, who plays for EFL League Two team, Newport County, to launch the tracksuit, marking the first time the whiskey brand has sponsored a single player.

Last year, Jameson teamed up with Dickies to launch a workwear-inspired multi-piece capsule that included signature pieces such as the ‘iconic’ Dickies Eisenhower jacket, a limited edition Jameson bottle, as well as overalls, beanies, and caps.

Last week, gin brand Renais collaborated with Del Toro to create an apparel line.
