Gabriel Macht invests in Bear Fight Whiskey
Suits star Gabriel Macht has joined Seth MacFarlane as an investor in American whiskey brand Bear Fight.
Macht, best known for his role as attorney Harvey Specter on Suits, has taken an equity stake in Bear Fight and signed on as a creative partner for the brand.
Bear Fight is made by third-party spirits producer Next Century Spirits and co-owned by MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy.
American actor Macht will be at the centre of the brand’s inaugural advertising campaign debuting in early 2025, which will focus on the question: ‘What’s your Bear Fight?’
According to Next Century, Macht will bring his ‘signature charisma and sharp presence’ to Bear Fight.
“I’ve been a long-time whiskey fan, so linking arms with Bear Fight and Next Century Spirits was a compelling opportunity I was eager to jump on,” said Macht.
“I’ve always been drawn to projects that are bold and unique, and Bear Fight is no exception. The brand challenges tradition, bringing new-world methods and attributes to the spirits realm.
“As a proud whiskey enthusiast, I’m excited to tap into my creativity and help define the Bear Fight brand while building a sense of connection and enjoying a few ‘New Fashioneds’ along the way.”
The Bear Fight portfolio includes two expressions: American Single Malt Whiskey, which uses three types of oak barrels, and Kentucky Reserve Bourbon, which is finished in reposado Tequila barrels.
Anthony Moniello, Next Century Spirits co-CEO, described the partnership with the actor as the “natural next step for Bear Fight”.
He continued: “Ultimately, he is the Bear Fight brand personified: confident, sophisticated, elegant – all while remaining approachable.
“Welcoming him to the team will help bolster this top-performing brand within the Next Century Spirits portfolio, helping deepen our trust as a multinational spirits company and exemplifying our ability to create best-in-class, award-winning spirits.”
In May last year, Bear Fight secured US$1.9 million in funding from Texan banking firm Valedor Partners and Matthew Bronfman, chairman of Next Century Spirits.
Earlier this year, Next Century Spirits purchased six brands from Southwest Spirits & Wine, including its first vodka and gin.
The company also purchased a minority stake in RTD brand Vide.
