Wyoming Whiskey adds to National Parks Series

Craft distillery Wyoming Whiskey has paid tribute to Yellowstone National Park with a pair of limited releases.

Wyoming Whiskey National Parks No. 4 will be availing in 27 states

Wyoming Whiskey National Parks No. 4 – Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park is the fourth release in the brand’s annual National Park Series.

The straight Bourbon blends together more than 70 barrels pulled from various areas within Wyoming’s warehouse, each aged for a minimum of five years.

“National Parks No. 4 has been crafted from barrels specifically selected to continue the distinctive flavour profile of our National Parks Series, celebrating the adventurous spirit of these treasured wide-open spaces,” co-founder David DeFazio said.

The whiskey is bottled at 49% ABV and is listed at US$80. It will be available in 27 states and shows notes of crème brûlée and toasted coconut on the nose, with Mexican vanilla and candied ginger on the palate.

In addition to National Parks No. 4, Wyoming will be releasing roughly 500 bottles of Old Faithful, a limited edition whiskey that honours the iconic Old Faithful geyser at Yellowstone National Park and photographer F. Jay Haynes. It is the latest instalment in the brand’s Wide-Open Spaces series.

“Old Faithful is a truly special whiskey, made from a select few of our 10-year-old wheated Bourbon barrels, making it the oldest wheated Bourbon from our warehouses,” DeFazio said.

The whiskey is bottled at 54% ABV and listed at US$500. It will be available in Wyoming, California and Colorado, and displays deep red fruits and dark chocolate on the nose, while baking spice, orange peel, and toffee arrive on the palate.

The Bourbon’s label features a photo from Haynes, who spent his life capturing Yellowstone’s scenic beauty.

In conjunction with the release of both whiskeys, Wyoming has donated US$150,000 to Yellowstone Forever, the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park.
