SB Awards ceremony tickets sell out in 48 hours
Tickets for The Spirits Business Awards 2024 awards ceremony sold out within 48 hours of the shortlist announcement.
The Spirits Business revealed the finalists for The Spirits Business Awards 2024 on Monday (2 September).
The winners will be announced during a black-tie event at the Underglobe Theatre in London on 14 November, which will be hosted by Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman.
“As a team, we’re delighted to have received such enthusiasm for our awards ceremony in November,” said Melita Kiely, editor of The Spirits Business, who chaired the judging process. “The event is shaping up to be a fantastic evening to celebrate some of the greatest minds in the spirits world. I look forward to toasting each and every one of them in a packed out room. It will be a night to remember.”
Established in 2019, The Spirits Business Awards is now in its sixth year. For the first time, the awards ceremony has been revamped into a black-tie event.
This year’s edition also marks a banner year for the awards. More than 215 submissions were received, spanning the following categories: Retail and Marketing; Sustainability and Innovation; Culture and Tourism; Products; and People.
Furthermore, several new categories were added to 2024’s edition, including Bar of the Year, Bartender of the Year, and Brand of the Year.
Each category was judged by independent experts to ensure fair and unbiased assessments of all entrants.
Chaired by editor Kiely, the judges consisted of: Pooja Sharma-Jones (Mocktail Beverages Inc); Nicky Burston (The Drinks Trust); Kate Malczewski (award-winning freelance drinks writer); Will Meredith (Daisy Age Drinks); Guy Hodcroft (Bordeaux Index); Tom Brady (Oxford Wine Company); Nick Larsson-Bell (Harvey Nichols); Dawn Davies (The Whisky Exchange); Billy Abbott (The Whisky Exchange); David T Smith (spirits writer, consultant, and co-founder of the Craft Spirits Expo); Rob Hollands (Proofworks); Michael Vachon (Maverick Drinks); Siobhan Payne (London Cocktail Week and The Pinnacle Guide).
