Templeton whiskey debuts in Germany
By Miona MadsenAmerican whiskey brand Templeton has secured a distribution deal with Sprithöker, marking its debut in Germany.
Since 1 August this year, spirits importer Sprithöker has been the brand’s exclusive partner in Germany. Templeton is owned by Infinium Spirits.
Sven Köcher, managing owner of Sprithöker, commented: “We are delighted to add another strong partner to our portfolio with Infinium Spirits. Templeton Whiskey is not only a brand with an impressive history but also a product of exceptional quality that perfectly complements our already very fine portfolio of American whiskeys.
“Our aim is to establish the entire range of Templeton whiskeys in Germany and to strengthen their presence in the various distribution channels such as retail, specialist shops, restaurants, and e-commerce.”
Templeton produces a variety of rye whiskeys, a style that has had a strong reputation in the US since the days of Prohibition and form the core of the Templeton portfolio.
Through the collaboration, Sprithöker is introducing another premium brand to the German market, one that has the potential to captivate connoisseurs and newcomers alike.
Some new releases from the distillery, now also available in Germany, include Templeton Fortitude Bourbon, launched in April this year. Fortitude marks the first liquid to come entirely from the Iowa-based distillery.
Launched in May 2024, Templeton Midnight Rye is a unique blend of traditional rye whiskey and a hint of Port wine.
Victor Kujawski, international commercial manager at Infinium Spirits, said: “We are very proud to enter the German market in partnership with Sprithöker as a distribution partner. Germany is one of our focus markets, where American whiskey is experiencing strong growth and consumers are willing to discover new tastes, also following the global trend in mixology around classic rye cocktails.
“With this strong partnership with Sprithöker, we believe that together we can develop the Templeton brand in the German market, which will come straight in line with the launch of our new releases, Fortitude Bourbon and Midnight Rye.”
Infinium Spirits is a family-owned global spirits supplier, established in 2005 and based in San Diego, California.
The company specialises in building a diverse portfolio of spirit brands, including Templeton Rye, Seagram’s Vodka, Corralejo Tequila, Zaya Rum, Torres Brandy, and Tears of Llorona Tequila.
Last month, we spoke to Shane Fitzharris, senior vice-president of commercial at Infinium Spirits, about the growing popularity of rye whiskeys.
