Named Unrivalled Classics, the global cocktail competition finals were held on 10 September at the brand’s distillery in Schiedam, The Netherlands.

After an eight-month competition, Martha May Markham from the UK made her way to the final and was crowned the winner of Unrivalled Classics 2024 with her Toe The Lime creation. The winning cocktail uses No. 3 Gin, clarified key lime pie cordial that contains condensed milk and cream cheese, cardamom and orange tincture, garnished with a digestive biscuit and oak salt dust.

Markham works at Bar Swift’s Soho location. She has worked in the industry for eight years in the Midlands, Liverpool and London, and has shown her skill in regional and local competitions.

As a winner of the Unrivalled Classics 2024, she has won a multi-course dinner at Michelin-starred restaurant Burnt Ends, known for its modern Australian barbecue menu, paired with a selection of No.3 Gin cocktails. In addition, Markham will take centre stage at Bar Convent Singapore with a takeover at Atlas bar in Singapore.

This year’s finalists, Loiver Hernandez (USA), Germán Álvarez (Spain), Giusy Martinez (Italy), and Andrey Bartlett (Germany), were given an all-expenses paid two-day brand immersion with No.3 Gin in The Netherlands. The trip included a tour of the De Kuyper Distillery and a Martini masterclass with Duke’s master bartender, Alessandro Palazzi.

For the competition, No.3’s brand ambassadors hosted 15 masterclasses in key cities in the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the USA to educate bartenders on the brand and the Gimlet cocktail before entering.

In 2024, entrants were challenged to take inspiration from the Gimlet cocktail and create their own unique interpretation using a minimum of 40ml No.3 Gin and a maximum of six ingredients, which include a maximum of two homemade components.

Contestants were judged by Emma Stokes (Gin Monkey), Myriam Hendrickx (Rutte Distillery) and Palazzi, who crowned the winner based on taste, flavour, presentation, skill, technique and brand knowledge.

Speaking about the competition, Ross Bryant, global brand ambassador for No. 3 Gin, said: “There has been some incredible talent and skill showcased at this year’s competition, and all the competitors should be very proud of their creations, which are astounding. Martha was undeniably an unrivalled talent with Toe The Lime. We can’t wait to see what next year has in store.”

In The Gin Masters 2024 – First Tasting results, No.3 Gin was awarded with two Gold medals.
