Coffee liqueur brand Mr Black is celebrating the Espresso Martini with a 10-day festival dedicated to the cocktail.

The Mr Black Espresso Martini Fest will run for 10 days in September

The Mr Black Espresso Martini Fest will run from 19-29 September in cities across the UK.

Participating venues will offer special serves, takeovers, and one-off pairings – each highlighting Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur.

It is expected that more than 75 bars will be taking part in the nationwide festival, with bars turning to unconventional methods to create ‘the most innovative Espresso Martinis yet’, with techniques including clarification, carbonation, smoking, infusion, freezing, and the use of foam all being utilised.

Highlights include The Cool One, by Giorgia Di Stefano of Demon Wise & Partners, London, which is described as an indulgent serve made with Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, Coole Swan Irish liqueur, vodka, espresso and sugar syrup, while Filippos Filippopoulos of Tabula Rasa in Leeds is showcasing an ‘elevated classic’ that utilises Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur with Metaxa, demerara and walnut bitters.

Meanwhile Kim Toft of Daddy Marmalades in Glasgow will be treating festival-goers to It’s Birchin’, made with Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, birch vodka, chocolate and tobacco bitters.

Each participating venue for the Espresso Martini Fest has been hand-picked by the Mr Black team, using its cocktail and coffee know-how to craft a carefully curated map of bars, trending restaurants, and go-to destinations.

The full list of participating bars is available to view on www.mrblack.co/en-gb/espresso-martini-fest.

Last year, the Diageo-owned coffee liqueur brand collaborated with fellow Australian spirits brand, Starward. This followed a collaboration with the Bundaberg distillery in Queensland.

Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur is available at Waitrose, Amazon, and other spirits retailers across the UK.

It is offered at RRP £30 (US$39) for a 700ml bottle and £24 (US$31) for a 500ml bottle.
