Ready-to-drink (RTD) brand Whitebox has partnered with Aer Lingus to serve three of its canned cocktails on the Irish airline’s business-class flights.

The brand’s Pocket Negroni, Squeezy’s Margarita and Classic Cosmo will be offered to passengers travelling via business class with Aer Lingus.

Ben Iravani, co-founder of Whitebox Cocktails, said: “Having long thought our range of premium, ready-to-serve cocktails are perfect for air travel, we are delighted to bring them to the skies with Aer Lingus.

“The trio of classics available on board are ready to simply be poured over ice, making it easy to enjoy the quality of cocktails found in the world’s top cocktail bars at 30,000 feet.”

The collaboration with Aer Lingus is the latest move from the brand in its overall aim to ‘become the leader in the classic ready-to-serve cocktail category’.

Last month it launched a crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs, which would grow its inventory, progress its international expansion and further support its marketing campaigns. The goal was to raise £200,000 (US$258,472) and so far, the campaign has exceeded that target with £245,681 (US$319,800) from 318 investors.

Through a prior crowdfunding campaign, Whitebox secured a production site in Edinburgh that allowed it to produce 25,000 canned cocktails a day.

Earlier this year, we looked into which cocktails are best for air travel. RTDs are appealing for airlines due to their quick preparation time.

According to IWSR data, the premium canned cocktail market is set to grow to US$40 billion by 2027.
