Ukiyo expands presence in Europe
Kirker Greer Spirits-owned Ukiyo has expanded its European distribution with new listings in the Dutch and German markets.
Ukiyo Japanese Spirits is growing its presence in the Netherlands with Gall & Gall and in Germany with a listing at Edeka North, following the recent news that the brand secured a listing in the UK with online grocer Ocado earlier this month.
Gall & Gall, a leading liquor store chain in the Netherlands with more than 570 locations, will feature the full Ukiyo spirits collection: Tokyo Dry Gin, Japanese Blossom Gin, Japanese Yuzu Gin and Japanese Rice Vodka.
The brand has also secured a complete range listing with Edeka North, a retailer in Germany with more than 600 stores.
“We identified the Netherlands and Germany as key markets for our brands; we identified in-market partners and have been working hard alongside them to position ourselves for growth. I’m delighted to see the effort now coming to fruition,” said Ryan McFarland, chief commercial and strategy officer of Drinksology Kirker Greer.
“Our collaboration with these prestigious retailers represents a strategic step in our European growth, and it’s amazing to be able to bring the finest Japanese spirits to a wider European audience. I look forward to expanding that to the rest of the Kirker Greer Spirits portfolio over the coming years.”
The Kirker Greer Spirits portfolio, including Ukiyo Japanese Spirits, have been distributed in the Netherlands with Anker Amsterdam Spirits and Germany in partnership with Hellwege Spirituosen since launching in late 2021.
Ali Pickering, chief marketing officer of Drinksology Kirker Greer, added: “We are thrilled to see Ukiyo Japanese Spirits embraced by these esteemed retailers. Our commitment to excellence and innovation is reflected in this expansion, and we are excited to share the rich heritage of Japanese spirits with new consumers across Europe.”
