Camus Cognac partners with Gothic Bar
Fifth-generation, family-owned Cognac brand Camus is partnering with Gothic Bar in the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in King’s Cross, London.
Camus’ three-month ‘Voyages Extraordinaires’ activation at Gothic Bar will launch on 9 September and will run until the end of November.
The partnership will see the bar present an innovative menu using Camus Cognac, alongside a programme of activities to capture the hearts and palates of cocktail lovers this autumn.
Camus, renowned for its craftsmanship and rich heritage in the world of Cognac, chose Gothic Bar, for its ‘unique décor and sophisticated ambience’, which it said aligned with the Cognac brand.
Bar manager Jack Porter has developed a menu of three cocktails inspired by Jules Verne’s Voyages Extraordinaires book collection. The famed novels were published 160 years ago, around the same time that the Camus family began their journey in the world of Cognac.
Porter took inspiration from the French author’s stories and married them with three Camus Cognacs: VSOP, VSOP Borderies, and Ile de Ré, paying homage to both French literature and Camus’ quality and history.
Additionally, the bar team will take part in London Cocktail Week with Camus, when a cocktail from the menu and Cognac masterclasses will take place.
Camus Cognac is represented in the UK by London-based drinks agency Speciality Brands.
In the 2024 Cognac Masters, the brand was awarded three Gold medals and a Silver medal.
In November 2023, Camus revealed plans to build a US$30 million whisky distillery in Bozhou, China. The company shared an update on the progress in May this year.
