El Supremo rum lands in Spain
Paraguayan rum brand El Supremo has partnered with distributors Alpom and Raimsa to launch in Madrid and Barcelona.
Along with the distribution deals, El Supremo has appointed a new brand ambassador, Pocholo Martínez-Bordiú, to oversee the brand’s expansion in Spain.
El Supremo rum will be available in the Spanish market in three variants: five, eight, and 12-year-old, with a retail price of €30-€60 (US$32-US$65).
“El Supremo is a rum that pays tribute to the long and rich artisanal tradition of Paraguay and its surroundings. This craftsmanship and respect for the Guaraní tradition have produced a truly remarkable award-winning rum unlike any other. We are pleased to be able to launch this product in Spain and dedicate it to all those visionaries who have given us their legacy,” said Filippo Maria Olivi di Briana, founder of Ron El Supremo.
Made with sugar cane juice, the rum is aged in a combination of native brown incense and French oak barrels to create a unique flavour profile.
The brand is now available in bars, hotels, and restaurants in Madrid and Barcelona, as well as in duty free shops in the municipality of La Jonquera.
El Supremo plans to expand into Catalonia and develop new businesses in Murcia, Andalusia, the Basque Country, and the Balearic Islands in the coming months. The aim is to be fully established on the Peninsula by the end of 2024.
The brand has made significant investments to strengthen its presence in the European market, including recent expansions in France and the Baltics.
