Named The Brook, the bar will be located in the neighbourhood of Gurgaon, to the southwest of New Delhi.

The bar’s name and inspiration comes from Lord Tennyson’s poem ‘The Brook’ and will celebrate the ‘joys of doing nothing’ and ‘the thrill of staying still in the moment and breathing it all in’.

Co-founder Minakshi Singh said: “A bar that takes inspiration from Lord Tennyson’s poem ‘The Brook’ is created for lovers of mountain life. With cocktails and food paying homage to the Himalayan region, it shall showcase the techniques, art, styles, ingredients and craft that are rare and precious.

“The founding team hails from the region and is mighty proud and excited to showcase it. Located in the small neighbourhood of our beloved city, Gurgaon, we can’t wait for you to trek up.”

Co-founder and mixologist Yangdup Lama will be behind the drinks, which celebrate the bounty and techniques of the region, which will be paired with farm-to-table food from a Himalayan kitchen headed by pit master Gautam Nijhawan of Bhumi Farms.

In addition to the cocktails, there will also be a tea programme and freshly roasted coffee. The team adds that the setting will ‘evoke the feeling of your favourite mountain hideaway’.

New Delhi bar Sidecar is currently 18th on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list. It was established by Singh and Lama in 2018.

The pair also set up speakeasy Cocktails & Dreams in Gurgaon, which has no menu and aims to recreate the experience of the Prohibition era of the 1920s.
