Limestone Branch opens tasting room

The new tasting space will be used to expand the distillery’s barrel pick program and is named after Stephen B Beam, the founder of Limestone Branch.

The Stephen B Beam Tasting Lodge can accommodate 20 guests at a time

Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky, has opened the Stephen B Beam Tasting Lodge, a 1,250 square-foot space that will be used to expand its barrel select program. Named after the distillery’s founder, the building will accommodate customers making barrel picks of Yellowstone Bourbon, Yellowstone American single malt, and Minor Case six-year rye.

“It’s humbling and exciting to have the Tasting Lodge named in my honour because it’s an expansion of our dream to bring our family recipes and traditions to customers in small batches since opening Limestone Branch Distillery more than 10 years ago,” said master distiller Stephen Beam.

According to the Bourbon Economic Impact Report published in February by the Kentucky Distillers’ Association, the Kentucky Bourbon industry recorded 2.5 million visitor experiences in 2023. That number stands to grow, as Limestone Branch welcomes drinkers to its new Tasting Lodge, which can accommodate 20 guests at a time.

In addition to the barrel pick program, the distillery will offer VIP opportunities for cocktail mixology classes, premium tastings and private events for consumers and retail customers.

“As we continue to expand our barrel program to include more unique and sought-after selections, we wanted to create a dedicated space for customers to fully experience these offerings,” said Casey Shirley, Luxco barrel program manager.

“The addition of the private Tasting Lodge provides the ideal location for customers to get to know our award-winning brands a little better and sample and select the perfect barrel.”

For those unable to visit Kentucky, Limestone offers mailed selection kits containing samples hand-picked by the distillery team, branded glassware, a tasting notebook and a guided tasting video led by executive Bourbon steward Stephen Fante.

For Yellowstone Bourbon, customers can choose from three proof options: 109, 115, and 119. Each barrel was aged for a minimum of four years and yields approximately 180 bottles. It has a suggested retail price of $60.

For Yellowstone American single malt, customers can choose from three proof options: 106, 110, and 116. Each barrel was aged for a minimum of four years and yields approximately 180 bottles. It has a suggested retail price of $70.

For Minor Case six-year rye, customers can choose from three proof options: 105, 110, and 115. The whiskey was made from a mash of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% barley. Each barrel yields approximately 180 bottles. It has a suggested retail price of $60.
