Aldi offers free gin

Supermarket chain Aldi is calling on all ‘gin-iuses’ in the UK to trial its gins for free and become members of the Aldi Gin Club.

Those selected will receive three bottles of Aldi’s latest summer gin launches to review

Applications are open until 25 June and 30 people will be selected to join the club.

Those successful will review the supermarket’s summer gins and create ‘innovative’ cocktails for the supermarket on social media, sharing them on TikTok or Instagram using the #AldiGinClub hashtag.

Each person selected will receive three bottles of Aldi’s latest summer gin launches over an eight-week period.

Feedback from sampling and the cocktail recipes will help the alcohol-buying team at Aldi in their decision-making for 2025.

Aldi said gin enthusiasts can land the opportunity by emailing aldiginclub@clarioncomms.co.uk with their full name, proof of age, social media handles (and follower counts), an explanation of what their favourite Aldi gin is (and favourite cocktail using the gin), and lastly, 150 words as to why they deserve to be selected.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “We’re excited to be launching the UK’s first supermarket Gin Club, recruiting a panel of gin enthusiasts that are passionate when it comes to cocktail creation.

“Aldi’s award-winning gin range has gone from strength to strength, and this provides us with a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from our shoppers, helping to improve and develop our ranges for next year.

“Best of luck to all applicants.”

Aldi’s gins are produced under the Haysmith’s and Greyson’s banners.

The Haysmith’s Classic London Dry, flavoured Rhubarb & Ginger, and Bramble expressions were Gold medal recipients at The Spirits Business’ Gin Masters blind tasting last year.
