SB Awards announces new categories for 2024
By Melita KielyThe Spirits Business Awards (SB Awards) has added a number of new categories as part of its 2024 revamp – including ‘Brand of the Year’.

Brand of the Year will be split into subcategories to award the major spirits segments: Whisky, Gin, Vodka, Speciality, Tequila/Mezcal, Brandy/Cognac, Rum/Cachaça.
As part of the People section of the awards, this year a ‘Bartender of the Year’ will be crowned.
Furthermore, The Spirits Business Awards will also name a ‘Bar of the Year’ for 2024.
The SB Awards was established in 2019 with the aim of celebrating excellence across the spirits industry.
The categories span five core areas of the spirits trade: Retail and Marketing, Sustainability and Innovation, Tourism, Products, and People.
Entrants have until 28 June 2024 to upload their pitches.
The shortlists for each category will be announced in August, while the winners will be crowned during a black-tie awards ceremony at the Underglobe Theatre in London on 14 November.
Further details on this year’s awards, along with the entry portal, can be found on the new SB Awards website.
Last year, Terry Fraser, master distiller for Tanqueray and Gordon’s, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
