The brand claimed that Pinterest trend experts have predicted tropical flavours will be popular in 2024, with interest in the ‘coconut aesthetic’ up by 35%.

The new bottled cocktail is made with raspberry purée and coconut cream and has an ABV of 9.95%.

The flavour was created by a Jose Cuervo fan as part of the brand’s Margarita Shakeup contest, which offered a grand prize of US$50,000.

The expression, which comes in 1.75-litre bottles, is available in the US for an RRP of US$19.99.

The brand suggests chilling and serving the drink, or blending it with ice.

The new flavour joins a 20-strong range of bottled Margarita cocktails, with flavours including Classic, Strawberry Lime and Mango.

The brand also produces canned Margaritas and bottled cocktail mixers.

Jose Cuervo is the world’s largest Tequila brand.

Its parent firm, Becle, reported an increase in net profits of 41% in the final quarter of fiscal 2023, although net sales of its ready-to-drink (RTD) portfolio fell by 20.7%. The results followed a profit drop at the start of the year.

RTD cocktails and premium Tequila were two trends predicted for 2024 by alcohol e-commerce platform Drizly, which was shuttered this month by parent company Uber.
