Madrid to host Spain Rum & Gin Expo
Event organiser The Rum Lab has revealed further details of its first show in Europe, which will be held in Madrid this April.
The inaugural Spain Rum & Gin Expo will be held at event space Meeu, located at the Chamartín station in Madrid, on 26 April 2024.
According to The Rum Lab CEO Federico Hernández, the show aims to offer attendees a ‘unique and memorable experience’, with exhibitors, demonstrations and snacks that highlight the culture of rum and gin.
“Through this educational and sensory meeting we want to highlight the national and international brands of rum and gin, as well as the Spanish producers,” he explained. “We also seek to contribute to the growth and recognition of the local industry, creating opportunities for professionals in the sector to connect with each other.”
During the first edition of the Spain Rum & Gin Expo, participants will learn about current trends, and discover tasting notes and best practices in the rum and gin industry.
The 2024 show has been organised by Carlos Carballo, member of the Association of Sommeliers of Madrid.
The event will be divided into three sections: Trade & Industry, VIP Tasting, and Tasting.
The first session for the trade will be aimed at food and drinks professionals and held from 12pm to 3pm. Tickets are priced at €39.99 (US$44).
The VIP session (5.30pm to 10.30pm) will feature exclusive tastings and an automatic subscription to The Rum Lab newsletter. Tickets are available for €59.99 (US$66).
The general admission tasting session is open to the public from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, priced at €39.99.
The Rum Lab hosts numerous rum festivals across the US and Puerto Rico every year.
