Scotch whisky brand The Lost Distillery Company has released two new expressions: the Lossit 27 Year Old and Towiemore 25 Year Old.

The two blended Scotches aim to replicate the flavours of historic distilleries

The Lost Distillery Company creates blended Scotch whisky inspired by the flavour profiles of closed distilleries. Towiemore was a Speyside distillery active from 1898 to 1931, while Lossit was based in Islay from 1817 to 1867.

The two new expressions are strictly limited, with the Lossit restricted to 210 bottles worldwide and the Towiemore to 330.

Scott Watson, founder and CEO of Lost Distillery, expressed his enthusiasm for these releases: “Lossit 27 Year Old and Towiemore 25 Year Old represent living history.

“We are proud to protect and regenerate Scotland’s lost whisky heritage. Based at Dumfries House, we are committed to making fine whisky in and from Ayrshire to help regenerate a community that played such a key role in the history of Scotch whisky.

“We hope connoisseurs love these two fine drams and take the time to explore our story. Each bottle is a celebration of heritage, artistry and our spirit of regeneration through innovation.”

The Lossit presents notes of oak and smoke, leading to leather and chocolate, and leaving a tropical twist to finish. The Towiemore has notes of sweet fruits, Madeira cake, Sherry and roasted almonds.

Founded in 2012, The Lost Distillery Company aims to protect and regenerate Scotland’s whisky heritage through historical research, an understanding of traditional whisky production, and a dedication to authenticity. The business now exports to 50 markets globally.

The Lossit 27 Year Old, bottled at 47.3% ABV, is sold at a retail price of £520 (US$658). The Towiemore 25 Year Old, bottled at 52.1% ABV, will sell for £410 (US$518).
