Master of Malt reports record Black Friday sales

Online drinks retailer Master of Malt experienced its biggest Black Friday sales this year.

The annual event, which took place on 24 November 2023, was also the company’s second-biggest trading day to date.

Specific financial details of the trading day were not shared.

Justin Petszaft, Master of Malt’s founder, said: “As we near the end of one of the toughest years in recent history, I am very pleased to be able to share the news that we had our second-biggest trading day ever this Black Friday, with total November sales up more than 20% year on year.

“Just surviving in today’s economic climate is hard enough, so to actually be growing is remarkable and I’m incredibly proud of what the team have accomplished this year.

“This result is a testament to their fanatical dedication to our customers, and their commitment to continually improving the customer experience.”

Master of Malt was founded in 1985 as a mail-order business. It has since grown into a specialist whisky retailer, located in Tunbridge Wells in the UK.

The website now offers 15,000 different products, with more than 5,000 new drinks added to the site annually.

The annual festive #WhiskySanta campaign has almost doubled its original planned target of gifting £1 million worth of products to customers online.

“We’ve built more new technology and new features in the past six months than we have in the past six years, and we have big plans for 2024. We’re really flying,” added Petszaft.

Master of Malt was the Runner-up Spirits Retailer of the Year – E-commerce company in this year’s SB Awards.
