Tomatin reveals four GTR exclusives

Scotch distillery Tomatin has launched its ‘To What Matters’ marketing campaign at London Heathrow Airport, featuring four whiskies exclusive to global travel retail (GTR).

The activation at Heathrow will run until the end of the month

The campaign celebrates the people and places involved in the creation of Tomatin’s single malts.

Running until 31 October, the activation at the Destination Bar in Terminal 5 will host tastings surrounded by visuals of the distillery in the Scottish Highlands.

The exclusive whiskies include an eight-year-old, a 12-year-old, a 16-year-old and a 21-year-old single malt.

The Tomatin 12 Year Old has an ABV of 43% and has been matured in traditional oak, ex-Bourbon and ex-Spanish Sherry casks. The resulting whisky has aromas of wild heather, pine and cedar, with notes of crème caramel and a ‘full-bodied, buttery’ finish.

A one-litre bottle is priced at £44.99 (US$55).

Graham Nicolson, global sales director at Tomatin Distillery, said: “Unveiling ‘To What Matters’ for the first time at London Heathrow, one of the world’s busiest airports, provides a fantastic opportunity to share the magic of Tomatin with the millions of travellers passing through London this month.

“It is the perfect opportunity to discover the character of our whiskies and marvel at the Scottish Highlands.”

The activation will also host a competition to win a bottle of Tomatin 45 Year Old – one of only 250 bottles available globally, with a price tag of £7,500 (US$9,194).

Last month, a 47-year-old single malt from Tomatin was part of The Distillers’ Charity One of One auction.
