Spirit of the South West festival heads to Bristol
Bristol-based retailer Spirited will host the first festival dedicated to spirits producers from South West England next month.
Spirited has teamed up with events provider Cut Point Co to launch the Spirit of the South West festival, which will bring together producers from Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
The event will be held at Spirited’s store on North Street from 2pm to 8pm on 3 November.
Running over two sessions, the event will feature sampling, cocktails and stories from the faces behind the distilleries.
Companies already confirmed for the event include Bristol whisky maker Circumstance Distillery, Welsh gin distiller Silver Circle (located fewer than 30 miles from Bristol), Frome-based rum producer Silver Craft, and Penzance’s Pocketful of Stones.
Katy Kennedy, founder of Spirited and Spirit of the South West, said: “Bristol has fast become one of the most exciting cities for drinks anywhere in the UK.
“From amazing cocktail bars to award-winning producers, we’ve got so much going on right on our doorstep, not to mention the wider region and everything going on from Gloucester to Cornwall and in between.
“We wanted to celebrate these amazing distilleries and bring everyone together for the first time to share a drink or two, meet old friends and new faces, and maybe find a new favourite spirit in the process.”
Tickets for the festival are priced at £15 (US$19) and include a discount on any bottles purchased.
Soft drinks and beer will also be provided, alongside beer from Good Chemistry.
