Stranger & Sons debuts Sherry Cask Aged Gin
By Nicola CarruthersIndian brand Stranger & Sons has launched a Sherry cask-finished gin that seeks to replicate an Old Fashioned cocktail.

The gin was rested in ex-Amontillado and oloroso Sherry casks for more than a year. The liquid was then infused with cascara and wild honey.
The expression is described as like ‘sipping a classic Old Fashioned cocktail’ with a twist. It is recommended poured neat over ice.
To accompany the gin, the brand has also provided consumers with a grapefruit garnish spray to ‘elevate the experience’.
“This time, we sought to push the boundaries and blur the lines between the world of Old Fashioned cocktails and gins, to unveil a liquid with not just a fresh and bold flavour profile but one that truly redefines a consumer’s drinking experience,” said Sakshi Saigal, co-founder, Stranger & Sons Gin.
“You’ll find yourself immersed in a story of contrasts – the richness of Sherry harmonising with the vibrancy of cascara, while the delicate sweetness of wild honey adds a touch of wonder to every sip.
“Enjoyed best neat, on the rocks, just like an Old Fashioned cocktail, this gin is an invitation to explore new dimensions of taste and to create your own moments of relaxation amidst the hustle.”
The gin’s packaging is inspired by India’s forests.
The Sherry Cask Aged Gin will be available in limited quantities in select states in India. It is priced at INR 3,499 (US$42).
In January last year, Third Eye Distillery, which owns Stranger & Sons gin, partnered with spirits distribution system EcoSpirits in India.
