Kiefer Sutherland promotes Red Bank Whisky
Actor Kiefer Sutherland will be signing bottles of his new Canadian whisky brand, Red Bank, at two British Columbia stores later this month.
The Canadian actor and musician, best known for starring as Jack Bauer on Fox television series 24, moved into spirits earlier this year with the launch of Red Bank Whisky.
The blended Canadian whisky was co-founded by Sutherland, his friend Gary Briggs, ex-Diageo director Shawn Hiscott and entrepreneur Rob Steele.
Created by master blender Michel Marcil, Red Bank is a blend of rye, corn and wheat whiskies.
The whisky was named after the neighbourhood of Hubbards where Steele’s home is located.
“Red Bank isn’t just a whisky,” said Sutherland at the time of its release. “It is a testament to the passion and artistry of Canadian craftsmanship, and a reflection of the warm East Coast hospitality that you can always bank on.”
Sutherland will be signing bottles at 39th & Cambie BC Liquor in Vancouver on 24 August (4pm-6pm PT) and at Kelowna Orchard Park BC Liquor in Kelowna on the following day from 4pm to 6pm PT.
Red Bank hit shelves in Alberta, Canada, last month, and will soon be available across the country. According to the brand’s website, it can be found in four Canadian provinces: New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
It’s not the first time Sutherland has been involved with a spirits brand. In 2013, Proximo Spirits hired Sutherland to front a Jose Cuervo Tequila campaign in the US.
Last month, The Avengers actor Jeremy Renner joined US-based Sweet Grass Vodka as a co-owner.
In 2022, rapper A$AP Rocky teamed up with E&J Gallo to launch a blended Canadian whisky brand, called Mercer + Prince.
