Anora adds Risto Gaggl to executive team

Nordic company Anora Group has named Risto Gaggl as senior vice-president, industrial, and member of the firm’s executive management team.

Gaggl will take up the roles from 1 January 2024. He will, however, officially join Anora Group on 1 October 2023, shadowing Hannu Tuominen, current senior vice-president, industry, before his retirement at the end of the year.

Pekka Tennilä, CEO of Anora Group, commented: “Under Hannu Tuominen’s leadership, Anora’s industrial business and supply chain expertise have been taken to a completely new level.

“For example, Anora has become one of the pioneers in sustainable supply chain management internationally in our industry. Thanks to his experience, Risto Gaggl is an excellent choice to continue the further development of our industrial business, one of the most important focus areas of which is the implementation of our centre of excellence strategy.

“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Hannu for his important and successful contribution and welcome Risto to Anora’s management team.”

The industrial section is one of Anora Group’s three business segments, and includes the company’s industrial business, industrial products and services, the logistics company Vectura, and internal supply chain operations.

In 2022, total net sales from the industrial segment were worth €285 million (US$308.3m), of which €160m (US$173.1m) were external sales.

Gaggl will bring 10 years’ experience as chief supply chain officer at Fiskars Group to Anora. Prior to that role, he held numerous international positions at Elcoteq, including vice-president, business excellence.

He said: “It’s great to be able to work with Anora’s well-known and valued brands and to be part of the team in implementing Anora’s growth strategy together with the company’s top professionals, both in the industrial business and in the entire group.

“Anora has done pioneering work in responsibility, for example at its Koskenkorva Distillery, which operates based on the circular economy. I am also looking forward to developing sustainability matters together.”

Earlier this month, Koskenkorva Vodka owner Anora Group lowered its profit guidance for 2023.
