Powerscourt pumps €25m into global growth
By Melita KielyIrish whiskey producer The Powerscourt Distillery will invest €25 million (US$27.4m) into its global growth plans.

The producer, which is based in Enniskerry, County Wicklow, Ireland, secured the loan from PNC Business Credit.
The capital will be used to boost the distillery’s production capabilities, enhance brand development and support the company’s expansion into new markets worldwide.
Roger Duggan, general manager of The Powerscourt Distillery, said: “Leveraging our substantial whiskey stocks makes great sense. It will enable us to continue growing at the pace we want and further develop our brand globally.
“More importantly, it will allow us to achieve our ambitions with greater financial stability and certainty in the years ahead.”
The Powerscourt Distillery was founded in 2016 and started distilling in 2018. Today, the distiller sells single malt whiskeys, grain whiskeys and blended Irish whiskeys under its Fercullen brand.
In 2022, the distillery released Fercullen Falls – the first whiskey blended at Powerscourt. In May 2023, Powerscourt launched the first whiskey distilled entirely in County Wicklow in 100 years: Fercullen Single Malt.
Bruce Walker of HNH commented: “This deal is a great result for The Powerscourt Distillery and the outcome of a competitive process led locally by the HNH team.”
In January 2023, Fercullen made its debut in the US via a distribution partnership with Zamora Company.
