Mintis Gin enters the US

Italian gin brand Mintis has launched in the US through a distribution partnership with Interbalt Fine Wines & Spirits.

Mintis Gin has entered the US market

The deal marks the brand’s first move out of Europe, where it is distributed in more than 27 countries, including Austria, Croatia and Bulgaria.

The brand will initially be distributed in five US states: Washington DC, Maryland, New York, Florida, and Delaware, before being distributed nationwide to select retailers, restaurants and bars.

Mintis co-founder Stepan Stanek commented: “We are so happy that we can launch our award-winning gin also in the US thanks to our new partner Interbalt Fine Wines & Spirits, and continue rapid growth of the brand.”

Owned by Port of Spirits, Mintis Gin is hand-made using Italian mint from Pancalieri, known for its ‘fresh aroma’, well-ripened fruits, and wild Tuscany juniper, according to the brand.

The 41.8% ABV gin is presented in custom-made bottles that are said to be inspired by bunches of mint.

The gin is distilled in a custom-made vacuum still for eight hours at 60°C.

Using much lower temperatures than traditional methods is said to allow for the preservation of the gin’s aromatic and fresh flavour, while also generating a lower environmental impact.

Mintis’ portfolio comprises four expressions: Originale, Clementine, Amarena Cherry, and Blackcurrant.

Each bottling is made without added sugar or colours, and all are vegan-friendly.

Konstantin Khizder, president of Interbalt Fine Wines & Spirits, added: “There are not many flavoured gins on the market that are only natural, without artificial colours and flavours, without added sugar, vegan friendly, gluten-free and in an unbeatable packaging with an unmistakable taste. This is exactly what our customers want. When I thought about it, only Mintis fulfils all this and that’s why we chose it.”

Mintis won two Gold medals in The Gin Masters 2022 blind tasting.
