Brave New Spirits extends UK distribution

Glasgow-based independent whisky bottler Brave New Spirits will expand its UK distribution network via its new bonded warehouse.

Future releases from Brave New Spirits will include further bottlings under the Yellow Edition label

The company, which was established in 2020, releases small-batch and single cask Scotch whiskies in the UK under the Whisky of Voodoo, Cask Noir, and Yellow Edition brands.

Brave New Spirits moved to its new 20,000 square-foot warehouse earlier this year, and and such can now introduce its range of volume whisky brands to the UK trade for the first time, having previously only been available through distributors, retail groups and wholesalers in Europe and Asia.

It features blends, single grain and single malt brands such as Celtic Revival and The Highland Shepherd Single Malt, both of which received Gold medals at the 2022 Scotch Whisky Masters.

The Highland Shepherd Single Malt was commended for being “subtle and malty on the nose with cereal notes”, while “soft and floral” notes were picked up on the Celtic Revival bottling.

Future new releases from Brave New Spirits include second batches of its Cask Noir and Whisky of Voodoo ranges, which already comprises four single malts, one single grain and one blended malt whisky. All six expressions carry an age statement and have been matured or finished in wine casks.

The range launched through specialist partners in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Japan and South Korea last year.

The company will also see further releases under the Yellow Edition label which will see single cask releases that feature classic distilleries and traditional cask styles.

Last year Brave New Spirits increased its global footprint through a partnership with Switzerland-based distributor Smuggler.
