Next Century Spirits names CFO

Bear Fight whiskey owner Next Century Spirits has named Tom Spisak as its chief financial officer.

Spisak previously spent 26 years working with Diageo

Spisak will oversee the third-party spirits producer’s cost management efforts, delivering the company’s fiscal year plan, building its financial team, and aiding in its overall growth and profitability.

“I’m excited to join Next Century Spirits and work for a company where I have the opportunity to make a direct impact to the company’s overall growth during a key acceleration period,” he commented.

“Working at Next Century Spirits will allow me to utilise my experience in the craft soda and liquor industry to bring the organisation to new heights.”

Spisak joins the organisation after three years at Reed’s Inc, a craft soda company. Prior to this he spent 26 years at Diageo, where he held the role of vice-president of finance and controller of North America.

“We are thrilled Tom has joined the Next Century Spirits team,” said Rob Mason, co-chief executive officer. “His extensive financial knowledge within both the alcohol beverage space and with start-ups is extremely valuable to our organisation achieving our growth ambitions.”

Last month, SB spoke to Next Century Spirits’ co-CEO Anthony Moniello, who noted that American whiskey had received a noticeably high demand in Asia, as interest wanes in the US.

“As our brand group continues to grow, we are confident Tom will be a great asset to our team,” added Moniello. “We know he will help foster growth and unlock our brands to their greatest potential.
