La Martiniquaise-Bardinet has created a video campaign to celebrate the terroir of its Depaz agricole rum brand.

Victor Depaz established the rum brand in 1917; the distillery is located on the island of Martinique.

The new campaign video highlights the brand’s production method, from harvesting sugarcane to fermentation and distillation.

Depaz built the distillery following the 1902 eruption of the Mount Pelée Volcano on Martinique, which destroyed the town of Saint Pierre and killed his entire family.

The ‘rich volcanic soil’ gives the ‘ideal growing conditions’ for sugarcane, the brand said.

Today, the brand combines traditional production techniques with innovative, modern approaches to create a more sustainable way of working.

The Depaz portfolio includes Cuvée de la Montagne and Réserve Spéciale VSOP bottlings in the core range.

The brand also boasts limited edition bottlings, including single cask Brut de Fût Millésimes.

Depaz has previously featured in a compilation of top award-winning rums from The Global Spirits Masters Competitions.

In other La Martiniquaise-Bardinet news, blended Scotch whisky brand Cutty Sark unveiled a limited edition bottle to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Furthermore, the company revealed a new packaging design for its Label 5 blended Scotch whisky at trade fair ProWein last month.
