Au Vodka is UK’s fastest-growing firm

Wales-based Au Vodka has been named the UK’s fastest-growing company by the Growth Index 100, after registering annual turnover of £43.9 million (US$54.7m).

Au Vodka, known for its golden bottle and vibrantly coloured liquids, was founded in 2015 by Jackson Quinn and Charlie Morgan.

Quinn commented: “This is huge for us and the brand in general, this truly solidifies how Au Vodka has taken over the spirits market and has become a disruptor in the industry.

“It’s a huge achievement for the whole team, one we are most definitely going to celebrate. From two best friends who did an initial 2,000 limited bottle run, to now being named the UK’s fastest-growing company. It’s been an incredible journey and we’re only just starting out.”

Since launch, the company has created international celebrity campaigns, and expanded its portfolio to include 11 flavoured expressions.

Au Vodka has also launched brand extensions including ice lollies and ready-to-drink (RTD) cans.

Made from UK-sourced ingredients, the vodkas in Au’s portfolio are distilled by a third-party producer in Surrey, England.

The company’s turnover reached £43.9m in the period from 2021-2022, equating to 213,000 nine-litre-case sales. Its most popular expression globally is Blue Raspberry.

The brand’s biggest export markets are Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain.

Morgan attributed the company’s success to being “pioneers” in using social media for its marketing.

“We knew that creating the iconic gold bottle synonymous with Au Vodka and the vibrant coloured liquids would gain attention and we’ve played on this through our digital marketing strategies leading to demand for our products,” he said.

Morgan said the brand is also aiming to replicate its UK performance in the States, where it has had an “extremely successful first year”.

The company expects to sell 3.5m bottles of Au Vodka in 2023.

Last year, Au Vodka was revealed to be the second most-popular spirit brand on the internet.
