Kah is top-selling Tequila in UK stores
Amber Beverage Group-owned Kah was the number-one ultra-premium Tequila in the UK grocery channel over the last six months.
According to NielsenIQ data for the 26-week-period to 11 March 2023, Kah is now the UK’s top-selling ultra-premium Tequila by value and volume, outperforming Bacardi’s Patrón Silver.
Amber Beverage Group said the performance was due to ‘buoyant’ sales in Tesco stores and online at tesco.com.
The brand’s Blanco bottling gained a listing with the UK’s biggest supermarket chain in August 2022.
Kah Tequila Blanco in a brick-shaped bottle is currently available in Tesco as a UK-exclusive design, priced at £35 (US$42) per 700ml bottle.
Tina Connolly, senior brand manager for Amber Beverage UK, said: “Kah is an eye-catching as well as delicious, authentic Tequila brand.
“Tesco had the vision to list this, their first super- or ultra-premium Tequila brand in August 2022, and this has undoubtedly helped to bring the brand closer to consumers who find this category an exciting one to explore.
“Whilst of course Tequila is not new, the move towards hand-crafted, authentic, sipping Tequilas has attracted what is in effect a new wave of Tequila lovers, whether they are new to the drink or whether they are revising outdated views based on drinking poor mixtos in their youth.”
Amber Beverage Group expects a ‘strong’ growth trajectory for the Tequila brand during the rest of 2023, with volumes predicted to double.
The company will introduce a new Kah expression in the UK later this year.
The Kah range, which also includes reposado and añejo Tequilas, is available to purchase from department stores Fenwick and Selfridges.
Last month, Amber Beverage Group’s Rooster Rojo Tequila brand unveiled its first mezcal.
