The global spirits company, headquartered in Luxembourg, debuted Kah Extra Añejo Tequila in the US a year ago – a ‘sound decision’, as Tequila continues to premiumise in the US.

Pacific Edge Wine & Spirits, based in California, is the US distributor of Kah Tequila.

Joel K Beth, a director at Pacific Edge Wine & Spirits, said: “During 2023, we look forward to increasing distribution in existing states and to expanding the number of states where we sell this Tequila brand.”

IWSR Drinks Market Analysis reported Tequila sales overtook American whiskey by value in 2022, making the agave-based spirit the second most valuable category after vodka. Furthermore, IWSR predicts Tequila will overtake vodka by the end of 2023.

Amber Beverage Group also noted that Tequila is forecast to experience ‘strong double-digit growth’ between now and 2026 in both the on- and off-trade.

Kah Extra Añejo Tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber agave. It is aged for three years in white American oak barrels.

Tasting notes include pepper and smoky wood, with hints of sweet spice, vanilla, honey maple, and caramel.

The bottle design uses a phosphorous ink that glows in the dark.

Evija Sparane, global brand director for Kah Tequila at Amber Beverage Group (ABG), said: “Choosing to start all major launches for our Kah Tequila brand in the US is paying off. The US is where the audiences – both trade and consumers – are receptive to well-crafted, high-end Tequilas.

“Quite simply, they understand what we do and what we do is to hand-craft Tequilas of excellence that allow the agave taste notes to shine.”
