Burleighs to relaunch after sale
By Nicola CarruthersEnglish gin brand Burleighs will be relaunched and moved to a new site after being purchased by an investment company.

The Leicestershire-based gin maker has been sold to Lexer Investments, a company that ‘recognises the values and legacy’ of Burleighs.
In December 2022, Begbies Traynor was called in as administrator for the brand, and said a preferred bidder had been selected.
The move to sell the business came several weeks after the producer temporarily shut its distillery, stopped orders and postponed its events.
Under new ownership, the gin producer is planning to rebuild its ‘strong links’ to its Leicestershire area, and drive growth both locally and in the UK.
Burleighs will move to a new site in the coming months, and bring back its Gin School experience and local events.
Furthermore, a new and improved website is under development and the brand said all lines of communication have been reopened.
Burleighs said it would provide more details on the relaunch of the brand in the coming weeks. Updates will also be provided to those who sign up to the brand’s mailing list on the website.
In February 2021, Burleighs secured a £250,000 (US$354,000) investment to expand into new markets.
The company has made several fundraising efforts in recent years, including surpassing its £100,000 (US$130,000) fundraising target to support the development of new products and raising just under £500,000 (US$644,850) worth of investment in one month.
