Mexcor expands Hispanic brand portfolio
Houston-based distributor Mexcor International has added a collection of Hispanic spirits to its portfolio, including two artisanal mezcals.
In a bid to continue building the company’s reputation as one of the ‘largest’ Hispanic brand importers in the US, Mexcor has expanded its portfolio with artisanal mezcal brands, Marca Negra Mezcal and Meteoro Mezcal; premium mezcal Akul; and Casa Centinela, one of Mexico’s oldest Tequila houses.
“We understand the market in a unique way because we are Hispanic,” said Eduardo Morales, president and CEO of Mexcor International.
“It’s a significant milestone for our company to not only honour our Hispanic heritage, but to grow and further diversify our portfolio with these premium spirits.
“Consumers these days are much more educated and have endless amounts of information at their fingertips,” continued Morales. “As a result, we strive to remain the leader, offering these beloved brands to the US market, helping them find their niche, while also introducing them to a new and adventurous consumer.
“We are eager to hit the ground running and watch our Hispanic brands gain the visibility and recognition they deserve.”
Mexcor International was established in 1989 by Morales’ mother, Celia Villanueva, on the principles of hard work and dedication.
The company started with a portfolio of Mexican rums and Tequilas.
Since then, Mexcor International has grown its portfolio to more than 4,900 brands from in excess of 80 countries, adding 480 new brands in the last year alone, including one of Mexico’s best-selling Tequila brands, Cabrito Tequila.
Morales took over the company in 2000, since which Mexcor is said to have experienced ‘unmatched growth’ and remained ‘passionate’ about importing Hispanic brands to the US.
With distribution warehouses in Texas, Florida, and California, Mexcor International’s reach extends to 50 states and continues to strategically expand and grow.
This week we shared the results of The Tequila & Mezcal Masters 2023.
