US distributor Martignetti Companies has agreed to acquire fellow distribution firm Hartley & Parker

Both companies are based in New England, and the acquisition will expand Martignetti Companies’ footprint in the region.

Hartley & Parker, owned by the Rosenberg family, has been distributing in Connecticut for more than 80 years.

Its portfolio includes more than 6,000 brands from around the world, supplying fine wine and spirits to more than 5,000 on-trade and off-trade accounts across the state.

Following the acquisition, Martignetti will become the only wine and spirits distributor with operations in all six states in the New England region.

Carmine and Carl Martignetti, principals of Martignetti Companies, said: “Led by Jerry and David Rosenberg, the Rosenberg family has built an exceptional business over an 80-year history.

“We are committed to building on that legacy and to providing our combined employees, customers and suppliers with a platform for growth.”

Based in Massachusetts, Martignetti Companies is the sixth largest wine and spirits distributor in the US.

The acquisition of Hartley & Partner is expected to be completed in the first half of 2023.

Jerry and David Rosenberg said they “feel honoured to be part of the Martignetti Companies, where family traditions, professionalism and the pursuit of greater relationships with employees, customers and suppliers are paramount. We also feel the Martignettis will be able to bring added resources and experience to the Connecticut market to enhance our future potential.”

In additional recent acquisition news, GBH, owner of Chairman’s Reserve rum, agreed to acquire UK-based spirits distributor Mangrove Global earlier this month. The price of the sale was not revealed.

Meanwhile, at the end of last year, ultra-premium mixer producer East Imperial signed a deal to expand its distribution network in Asia Pacific.
