Cazcabel launches National Margarita Week

Tequila brand Cazcabel has unveiled plans for the UK’s inaugural National Margarita Week – an eight-day celebration of the cocktail.

Taking place from 18-26 February, the debut celebration will be composed of masterclasses, events, tastings, partnerships, and promotions across the UK.

Cazcabel, which in December was named the best-selling 100% agave Tequila in the UK on-trade, has teamed up with venues across the country to create drinks experiences that will promote the Margarita.

Participating venues include Callooh Callay and Murder Inc in London; Science + Industry and El Capo in Manchester; Butter and Pins in Liverpool; and Leave Me Alone, and Lisa and Hibou in Newcastle.

A series of masterclasses called Master Your Margarita will take place in venues including Barrio in Brixton, London, and Cargo Cantina in Bristol.

In these sessions, Tequila experts will take guests through the techniques and ingredients that can transform ‘a boring supermarket-grade’ Margarita into ‘something special’.

Guests will learn about flavoured syrups and complementary liqueurs before making their own Margarita recipe and taking a bottle of their creation home with them.

As well as masterclasses, bar groups across the country including Stack, Akito, and Head of Steam will be hosting their own dedicated Margarita menus.

In London, Mestizo Chelsea will debut a new Margarita menu; and Bao Shoreditch will be running a Hot Man Margarita special, as well as launching a ‘Margarita robot’.

Leicester venue 33 Cank Street will be organising a 24-hour ‘Marg-a-thon’ for charity, while Home Bar will be kicking off its Fastest Margarita in the East competition.

In other Margarita news, the 10 finalists of Cointreau’s third annual cocktail challenge will be chosen on Margarita Day (22 February).
