Whipshots shifts more than 60,000 cases in Q4

Whipshots was created as a collaboration between Wap artist Cardi B and brand consultancy firm Starco Brands. It first came to market in December 2021.

The brand shipped 61,788 cases across 23 US states and to more than 10,000 retailers in the last three months of 2022. Expansion plans are now in the works.

“We are truly grateful for the speed at which consumers flocked to the brand and look forward to continuing that momentum throughout 2023,” said Ross Sklar, CEO of Starco Brands.

In October 2022, Whipshots revealed it had sold one million cans in under a year. The brand said it sold out in seconds through its limited release programme, Whip Drop. It first appeared on US retail shelves in February 2022 through Republic National Distributing Company.

Canned at 10% ABV, the brand’s core range includes vanilla, mocha, and caramel.

The brand said consumers responded ‘strongly’ to the line, with the Whipshots range used in cocktails, coffees, hot chocolates and desserts.

Cardi B took to Tiktok to show fans how to make her ‘Cardi Cocoa’, a boozy hot chocolate topped with the brand’s limited edition Peppermint flavour. The video received more than 30 million views.

The brand provided further festive cocktail inspiration under its ‘Whip it Naughty, Whip it Nice’ campaign.

“Our new seasonal Peppermint flavour was a huge hit for the holidays,” Sklar added. “We have plans to unveil more great-tasting seasonal flavours throughout the year to excite our fans and help propel Whipshots sales to meteoric heights.”

The alcoholic whipped cream is available in three sizes: 50ml (US$5.99), 200ml (US$13.99) and 375ml (US$19).
