Rum Lab unveils festival schedule for 2023
Event organiser The Rum Lab has revealed its festival schedule for next year, kicking off with the Miami Rum Congress in February.
The Rum Lab aims to educate consumers on premium rum in the US through its series of events, educational interviews and infographics.
The first event of the year, Miami Rum Congress, will take place on 10-12 February at the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach in Florida, US.
Next year, the festival will partner with the team behind famed bartender event Tiki by the Sea to host a Sunday Bartender Pool Party and Sustainable Garnish Bartender competition.
The three-day event has limited capacity, the organiser has said. The Friday session will feature educational seminars, with half of the day primarily for key executives at rum companies, while the other half is tailored to both rum experts and brands.
Meanwhile, the Taste of Rum festival will return to Puerto Rico on 25 March, taking place at the island’s Convention Centre. More than 3,000 visitors are expected to attend the event.
On 22 April, the Chicago Rum Festival will be held in the Logan Square Auditorium and is expected to attract rum fans from across the Midwest and Canada.
New York Rum Festival & Congress is scheduled for 10 June 2023 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, the weekend before on-trade show Bar Convent Brooklyn.
Furthermore, two rum events will be held back to back in the West Coast – Los Angeles Rum Festival and San Francisco Rum Festival. The Los Angeles event will be held on 8 September at the Majestic Ballroom, while the San Francisco festival is due to run on 16 September at Hibernia Bank.
The Rum Lab said it was aiming to include an additional event as part of the San Francisco fair, which would be a ‘big highlight’ for the festival. The event, which is yet to be confirmed, would be held in the winemaking area of Sonoma Valley or Napa Valley on 15 September, combining wine and rum.
